Wisteria is a fresh water plant which belongs to Acanthaceae family, native to Indian, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. This plant has bright green leaves forming narrow protrusions along their length and has slightly darker stem. Its has thick stem, thin and long leaves but genetics and method of planting can slightly change the shape of the leaves. Also remember that this plant enjoys moderate lighting for atleast 10 hours daily which will help to increase growth rate and also brighten its color. Water wisteria is one of the fast growing species of plant and can reach maximum height of 20 inches and 10 inches wide, so can block out too much light and can cover most of the tank. You can control this by trimming the stems back down to the size you want (Make sure to remove your cuttings from the tank otherwise they will fall to the substrate and grow into their own plant). For propagation, you can cut the top 5 inches or so from the stem and plant these elsewhere in the substrate and they will start to grow and develop their own plants.
