Rotala rotundifolia-Submersed

Rotala rotundifolia also known as dwarf Rotala is a plant species, native to south-east Asia. This plant is often mistaken over Rotala indica (which differs considerably from Rotala rotundifolia).This plant has narrow lanceolate leaves. It has dark green colored leaves but can have intense red colored leaves under strong light. It has 15 to 30 centimeters long stem and 2 to 3 centimeters wide. It forms side shoots willingly and can become bushy, so can be propagated by placing the tops back into the substrate while trimming, but be careful when replanting as the stems can be quite fragile and can be easily broken. So to prevent this, you can use aquarium plant tweezers. Like other stem plants, it enjoys good quality light, nutrients and proper CO2 supply. It belongs to Genus Rotala.
