Limnophila aromatica also known as Magenta Limnophila is a plant belonging to Plantaginaceae family native to Southeast Asia. This plant can be grown emersed or submersed. Emersed forms have less leaves than that of submersed forms. It is often used as an aromatic herb in some Vietnamese soups. This plant has narrow leaves, which have purple coloration on the back. Its color depends on supply of intensive light. It requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 (optional) to grow at its best. It is easy to propagate, which can be achieved by cutting at the stem and replanting it elsewhere in quality aquarium soil. It can reach upto 20 to 30 centimeters in height or can be even more. It belongs to Genus Limnophila.
