Ludwigia repens also known as creeping primrose-willow is an plant which belongs to Onagraceae family from tropical North and Central American waters. It is also known as aquatic weed in some regions. It can grow either partially or fully submersed. Its leaves range in color from dark green to brownish-red when fully submersed. It develops small bright yellow flowers above the water’s surface. Stems can be 30 cm long and 4 to 6 cm wide as it is a mat forming perennial herb. Vibrancy of this plant depends greatly on the amount of light it receives. It requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 (optional) to grow at its best. For propagation, simply cut the branches off the top and plant the stem in the substrate elsewhere. It can reach upto 20 to 30 centimeters in height or can be even more. It belongs to Genus Ludwigia.
