Ludwigia arcuata also known as Ludwigia Needle leaf is an plant which belongs to Onagraceae family from tropical North and Central American waters. As its name suggests, this plant have thin, pointed leaves that grow in opposite pairs along the whole length of stem. It can grow either partially or fully submersed. Its leaves range in color from dark green to brownish-red when fully submersed. The top of the leaves are olive green and undersides are reddish-brown to deep red in color. Vibrancy of this plant depends greatly on the amount of light it receives. It requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 (optional) to grow at its best. For propagation, simply cut the branches off the top and plant the stem in the substrate elsewhere (Make sure that you remove the leaves from the last node on the bottom of the stem for proper root growth). It can reach upto 20 to 30 centimeters in height or can be even more. It belongs to Genus Ludwigia.
