Hygrophila rosanervig also known as Hygrophila Sunset is an aquatic plant which belongs to Acanthaceae family. It is native to Bangladesh, India, China and Malaysia. It has become established in several southern states Texas, Florida and possibly Virginia. For its faster growth, you need high quality light, nutrient rich water, substrate. It grows so fast that you should prevent it from crowding out other plants. so requires constant trimming which is done by pinching and removing excess stems. Stem becomes 25-40 centimeters and 4-8 centimeters wide, may even grow over 60 cm in length. It can have deep pink colored leaves if you provide intense lighting. Also, the distinctive light coloring of the leaf nerves is probably caused by virus which prevents chlorophyll from being produced in the cells around the leaf ribs which makes them white. But this virus does not affect other plants in the aquarium. It belongs to Genus Hygrophila.
