Hemianthus micranthemoides is one of the popular aquatic plant commonly used in aquaspacing which belongs to Scrophulariaceae family. It is also known as pearl grass, pearl weed and Micranthemum micranthemoides. This plant is from North America. It can be used as a foreground plant, as it has characteristics trailing growth in intense lighting. It is similar in appearance to other carpeting plants and is one of the beautiful looking plant, has small and light green leaves. It can grow submersed or emersed in the aquariums. It also requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 (optional) to grow at its best. For propagation, cut from any stems of mother plant and take the bottom leaves off then place the cuttings into the substrate with atleast 1/2 inch spacing between them (make sure that other foliage does not cover them). It can reach upto 2 to 6 inches of height. It belongs to Genus Hemianthus.
