Glossostigma is one of the popular aquarium plant for Japanese styled aquariums which belongs to Phrymaceae family, native to New Zealand, Tasmania and South eat Australia. Its leaves are bright green in color and has a tongue shape. It is very low growing lawn-like with creeping runners and spatula-like leaves. Like other stem plants, it also requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 to grow at its best. But this plant demands a lot of light, if its low lighting then this plant tends to grow upwards. For planting, split the clumps of Glosso into small portions of individual plantlets, as it comes in pot. every pot can be divided into 10-15 portions and maintain a spacing of 2.5 cm while planting. This plant propagates by producing runners. Trimming is required time to time otherwise the plant may tear off from the substrate and float to the water surface.
