Eleocharis Parvula also commonly known as dwarf hair grass is one of the popular and easy to use foreground plant. It is also known as dwarf spikerush, small spikerush etc. This plant can produce a grass like lawn of carpet. It can grow submersed or emersed in the aquariums. Like other stem plants, it also requires light, nutrients, trace elements and sufficient CO2 (optional) to grow at its best. It propagates by runners in the substrate. As the plant grows, runners are created and branch off the root area then these develop into a new plant and will grow from the root up. It can reach upto 3 to 12 centimeters of height or can grow even more. It belongs to Genus Eleocharis.
