Nymphoides Aquatica also known as Banana lily (as it has banana shaped roots) is an aquatic plant which belongs to Menyanthaceae family, native to the southeastern United States from Texas to Maryland. It also has other common names such as: banana plant and big floatingheart. It has large and highly unique roots which are thick and banana shaped located close to the leaves near the surface of the water. It also has round leaves that have a notch at the base and ranges from light to dark green in color. Leaves green above and are dull purple below in high lighting. Also light green to yellow both below and above in low lightning. It can reach up to 6 inches in height. It belongs to Genus Nymohoides.
